Info:   The 2010 IQ Field Hockey  Clinic is a cutting edge program which is designed to bring together the nation's field hockey players and coaches from our top academic institutions for a weekend of intensive development, teaching, and competition.  Similar programs have existed for years in sports such in baseball, lacrosse, soccer, and other sports and due to popular request by those in our sport, SFH will deliver it to you.  There will be  15  t0 25 college coaches from our nation's most elite academic institutions who will be working, coaching, and directing this event each day.  Many of our nations student athletes desire an opportunity to learn and be coached by high level coaches who know how to teach and coach our nation's top student-athletes as our IQ staff does for some of the finest academic universities and colleges around the nation.  The program is open to all athletes and is designed for those student athletes who aspire to be coached by some of our best college coaches from our best academic institutions.    The event also utilizes our "talent panning", a process which consists of mini competitions and challenges which are designed to expose all the strengths and weaknesses of each athlete, so that athletes leave our program understanding where to improve and develop.

Special features: 
  • There will be 15-25 NCAA College Coaches from our nations best academic institutions working as IQ clinicians.
  • Athletes will have the option to participate in 1 or 2 days.  All athletes must participate in Day 1 and both Day 1 and Day 2 are recommended for complete program benefits.
Who:  Open to HS athletes and teams.

Format:
 


Day 1:
  • 8:30am:  Registration.
  • 9am - 12:30pm: Intensive skills sessions with our  IQ staff.  The IQ staff will both direct and  instruct individual skills.
  • 12:30-1:30(lunch break):  Players assigned to teams for the competitive portion of the event.
  • 1:30-3:30pm:  Team concept coaching with IQ staff coaches. 
  • Play Pod, 3:30-7pm:  Tournament play, instruction, and analysis of your abilities and areas of need for improvement within the team concept.

Day 2:
  • Morning (9am - 12:30pm): Intensive individual skills and other sessions with our IQ staff.
  • 12:30-1:30(lunch break):
  • 1:30-4pm:  "Competition Challenge" , IQ coaches will put you in various competitive scenarios which are designed to see how you compete and instinctively respond to the game.   Awards will be issued for the various events. 
  • 4pm-6pm:  Tournament play  resumes.

Host Hotel: For those that are traveling from outside the region and will require an overnight stay a host hotel will be  released when registration opens.  An event representative will be staying at the hotel as well.  Transfers to and from Newark airport and to and from the field can be arranged at an additional charge.            

Registration:
Registration will open TBA.    Please pre-register(no obligation) until then.  Registration is limited.  Registrations are non-refundable. Coaches working the clinic will be listed prior to registration opening.
Game Schedule and Rosters:  Available at this link at a later date.  Athletes and coaches will be expected to check this prior to the event to get the up to date schedule and rosters.
